Johnnie Whiteside
Johnnie V. Whiteside aka Vante Soul is a drummer, producer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He began his journey as a drummer in the church at the age of seven years old in Philadelphia PA. He relocated to Southern NJ at a young age where he continued to play drums and develop his craft as a hip hop producer and gave himself the name 'Vante Soul' a producer. As a teenager and adult, he has played in churches all over the Delaware Valley and several well-established venues in Philadelphia and New York City.
He has produced, written, performed, and recorded with various groups and independent artists, and accredited musicians from all over the US. He has even written, produced, and performed his own hip-hop songs. He has released a number of independent projects and songs through websites such as
Bandcamp and Soundcloud. Through the years, he has frequented studios owned by Grammy-winning producers, engineers, and artists. He has been a part of the Roy Ayers' collective project 'The Roy Ayers Beat Submission Compilation' which has international acclaim, with a track called "Sunshine". He has done remixes and tracks for various industry artists and was chosen by LL Cool J as the winner of an original song contest that he wrote, produced, and performed called 'The summertime'. He has participated in other hip hop beat competitions at venues associated with legendary hip hop producers such as Pete Rock and DJ Premier.
Most recently, he has worked with actress and singer Cynda Williams( Mo' Betta Blues) on various songs and her latest Pink Pantie Confessions book
project. He has been featured as a guest on her weekly podcast PPC radio and even provided music for several of her podcast episodes. He is presently a musician, songwriter, and producer for Mustard Seed Productions in Sicklerville, NJ. Johnnie also is a human services supervisor, educator, and youth athletic coach. He is a graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications.
